Quick update

We've made it to Nairobi! The flight was long, and movies were plentiful. We did a little but of work but mostly relaxed and tried to gear up for our next adventure. I'm sitting in a hotel we found for breakfast and Internet. Today is a Kenyan holiday, so we will have a nice holiday as well. Hopefully I can find more Internet later today for a better update, and maybe some pictures.

Preparations

The few days before we leave have been crazy. I have an exam tomorrow, so I've been studying for that. Also, we have a lot to prep for before we go. We got our last immunizations yesterday, and I still need to get everything squared away with my personal stuff. Its coming up quick and I cant wait to be on that plane heading to Nairobi, our stop before Juba.

Also, our email addresses were forwarded to the students in Juba and they are starting to email us. Mostly welcoming emails saying they are excited to see us soon. Cant wait to head out, and its definitely hard to concentrate on school with this in the back of my mind...

Alright, back to studying.

Introduction

So after many months of planning, Juba is finally coming into view. I can see the finish line that is our final first year exam, and I can feel the mix of anticipation and nervousness that familiarly comes with every new adventure. Promptly after finishing my first year of med school, I will be heading to Juba, Southern Sudan. I'll be teaching at the University of Juba College of Medicine with three fellow med students, and will try to share as many pictures, stories, etc... as I can here. I've never been much of a blogger, but I think this is a great opportunity to start! I'll be gone from May 30th to July 31st, so check back for updates.
